This is often dangerous and hard work, especially if a tree has grown over a house or powerlines. We are specialists in removing large and small trees in tight spots and hard to reach locations. Depending on the tree and the location we can fell or dismantle using rigging equipment or cranes to bring a tree down safely and efficiently.
Whether your hedge is large or small, it needs a quick trim, to be reduced or removed we can offer a cost effective solution. With specialised machinery and training we can make an overgrown, overbearing hedge into a neatly trimmed, tidy example of what a hedge should look like.
Over time trees can block views, winter sunshine or simply spread over properties and gardens. These problems can be resolved without removing the tree. Whether we need to prune out deadwood to make them safe, reduce overhanging branches or thin out trees and shrubs to let in more light.
Clearing trees from areas of land is not as easy as it sounds. It’s not simply a case of felling everything in sight and walking away. Clearing land means providing a completely blank canvas for you to begin your project. Our experienced staff are fully equipped with the necessary skills and machinery to clear land on any scale.
Trees and shrubs can get too tall or lopsided for various reasons. We do not however just lop and top trees. We carefully reduce them to the desired height in order to make them as natural looking as possible. Doing it this way also does not damage the tree.
Our services include stump grinding. Stump grinding is the most cost effective way to remove stumps and minimize the amount of damage to your property.
With our 10 inch and 6 inch chippers we provide a cost effective solution to removing large amounts of green waste. Customers are often surprised about the cost of chipping piles of debris- often cheaper than taking it to the tip! Also you have the option of keeping the mulch for your garden, just another cost effective, environmentally friendly solution by Eco Tree Care.

Selecting the right firm for the job
• Are they qualified? What arboricultural qualifications do they have?
Ask for a business card, his/her qualifications should be on it. You wouldn’t use a firm of builders, plumbers, electricians or other trades who weren’t qualified.
• Are they members of any professional organisations?
The Arboricultural Association and the International Society of Arboriculture, represent arborists in New Zealand. Membership of such bodies shows that they keep up to date with latest techniques, information and research.
• Do they have public liability insurance?
• Obtain more than one quote for the work, though don’t always accept the lowest. Examine the credentials and specification of works they have provided. A properly prepared quote which specifies what work you have agreed to and at what price, is much better than a verbal one given at the site visit or over the phone later on. Don’t assume that a landscaping firm which advertises that it also does tree work, will be able to do the same standard of work to your trees as it did to your garden.
• Remember, just because a tree firm is in the Yellow Pages doesn’t mean it is automatically a good one.
• Pruning and removing trees, particularly large trees, can be dangerous work. It has the potential to be extremely costly, possibly have tragic consequences if improperly executed. Tree work should only be carried out by those trained and equipped to carry out work safely in trees. You are the one who will have to live with the tree left unsightly, unsafe or unhealthy, after the firm who carried out the work has gone.
Give us the opportunity to quote for your tree work. You won’t regret it, we promise. Phone us today – or email, if you prefer.
